Geriatric Mobile Clinics

Dignity Foundation recognizes the need to serve senior citizens at their doorstep. Especially among the lower socio-economic communities where medical and health care of senior citizens is often neglected due to expensive private care and insufficient public care facilities available to them. For senior citizens who work on daily wages to meet their needs, taking a leave to visit a public health facility means losing a day’s wage and waiting for long hours to be attended by a Doctor.
Dignity Foundation therefore operates geriatric mobile clinics to bring quality care at the beneficiaries’ doorstep.

Mobile Physiotherapy Van

Senior Citizens are at a high risk of falls and injuries which require immediate attention by a qualified physiotherapist. Among the lower socio-economic groups, there is hardly any awareness regarding the need for physiotherapy to prevent and cure aches, pains and other ailments, which could become severe if unattended.

To serve the needy senior citizens living in slum and tribal communities of Thane district in Maharashtra, Dignity Foundation operates a state-of-the-art Mobile Physiotherapy Van. The fully-customised, state-of-the-art van serves as a top-class physiotherapy clinic on wheels.

It is staffed with two Doctors – a male and a female physiotherapist. It is also equipped with advanced physiotherapy equipment.

The van aims to serve 5000 senior citizens living in low-income communities in and around Thane within the first year of its operation.
