The Day of Our Volunteers

For Dignity Foundation, the 'World Elders' Day' on October 1 is synonymous with recognising the worth of our esteemed volunteers, who form the backbone of our services, hence a day dedicated to honour and entertain them. It follows a train of special invitations, transport, awards, entertainment and snacks till they are dropped back to their doorsteps. As a feather in our cap, we had the Hon'ble Justice Dr D Y Chandrachud of the Bombay High Court as our Chief Guest this year to personally congratulate the awardees, along with Sujit Ganguly, Marketing Head of ICICI Prudential, who were the co-organisers of the Day. Justice Chandrachud enthralled the audience with his speech, who were of the view that the hassle of a long journey from the suburbs to the city was worth it 'just for this speech'.
