After You Left.

Like a frightened dove

Cuddled in my heart

You lay, like a piece of art

Frightens me,

The thought of your departure.

Flying high in the sky

Sitting alone in your seat

Feeling shy

And did we ever think

That you so tiny and shy

Who always slept on my chest

Will one day fly so high?

I wished we had purchased some land

Near the stream

Laden with fruit trees

We could all till the land

With our own hands

Or had cows and got some milk

Or grew tender vegetable and flowers...

But let me rejoice

That one day when you are back

We shall all live the dream

Shyam Sunder Arora

Su-Do-Ku

The vendor boy sharply aims at you

The morning daily fresh and new

The first thing you search and do

Is to solve the puzzle of Su-Do-Ku

Ere your morning coffee gets cold

Hasten to fill the grids you behold

Its not a mere number game

Though it has numbers all the same

Numbers in squares challenge your wits

Wakes your brain bit by bit

The right solution eludes you for long

Enter the toilet with the daily on hold

Lo! As if by sheer magic unfold

Numbers fall into places as told

Now your mind is free

And you grin with glee

Bounce out of your toilet seat

You've won the battle of numbers neat

Fully assured that you are safe and sound

To see what's happening in the world around.

Sunny Days

Fun is spontaneous enjoyment

Releasing abundant collective energy

But maturity drains out the fun from us

Making it the saddest truth of ageing

The emptier one's life is

The fuller its outer show looks

The more meaning one gains

The more isolated he becomes

No one can always be right or wrong

In a world of clamoured paradoxes

`Intelligent Design' proved an absurd proposition

And `globalisation' conquered all

Wither gone all the fun

In this heap of maturity and ageing

The hay days of soaring spirits

And sheer bliss, amazing?!
