DIGNITY DIALOGUE

Dignity Dialogue magazine was the first step towards launching the Foundation. On April 29, 1995 then the Chief Election Commissioner, T.N. Seshan, launched the magazine and recounted to a large audience the perils and joys of growing old. Ninety three year old M.P. Gandhi and sixty year old Shipra Roy Choudhary received citations for their productive contribution to the cause of Ageing with Dignity. Performances by the veteran artistes, dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai and singer Shaukat Ali Beg completed an evening of celebration of AGE.

OBJECTIVES OF THE MAGAZINE

To debate and discuss issues of relevance to people in their growing years. Issues include:

Retirement - the demographically aging trend of the country and the world which calls for purposeful policies on the part of the government, on the part of the old.

Lobbying for such policies.
Motivating seniors to remain lively by taking interest in life around them.
Mobilizing their participation through articulation of ideas in the magazine for building a more caring society.
Maintaining a network of all associations and organizations working for the welfare of Senior Citizens.
