Dignity Donor Privilege Programme Launch: Bangalore on 24 January, 2010
Within 20 months of opening the Dignity Foundation chapter in Bengaluru, closely following on Mumbai's event, the Bengaluru chapter launched DDPP event at Chowdiah Hall on January 24 th 2010 h . The hall was packed with about 900 Senior Citizen attendees including many who came by specially arranged buses.
Speaking inspirationally during the launch to thunderous applause, Mr. Ramesh Aravind, the Brand ambassador took an example from performing arts in portraying DF as a co script writer in the last two reels of a person's life that are most critical to the climax of our existence. .He cited a beautiful line from a book he read "Where Each Grey Hair is Like a Flag"), that is Grey is a colour to be proud of. Pointing out the various activities chalked out by dignity, he extolled that one can be more happy by keeping their thoughts open to new ideas and be happy.

Earlier addressing the presspersons Mr. N.B. Jayaprakash, Director said, "We are launching the coloured version of our Magazine which can be a ground for lobbying for retirement and senior citizen policies. It can also be used to mobilize senior citizen participation through articulation of ideas to build a more caring society."
Mrs. Yamunamurthy, a Senior citizen and former AIR Director Play acted a monologue on the unique challenges faced by senior citizens from security, counseling needs to loneliness and boredom. To reiterate the commitment of the younger generation towards the cause and care of elderly citizens, Kannada cine actor Tara presented the card to Mrs. Yamunamurthy, on the occasion of the press event earlier. Commenting on that occasion Ms. Tara said, "I am happy to be associated with the foundation. The new initiative from the organization is a step forward to elevate the status of senior citizens by enabling them to lead a productive innings."

Similarly acclaimed flautist Praveen presented the card to his father Pandit Venkatesh, while his son tied a Suraksha Bandhan to his grandfather as a demonstration of their promise to care and love him during the launch event.

Mr. .Singlachar, a Senior Citizen participant wrote "...On the whole the event exuded warmth and dignity. I will be mailing my application along with the cheque in the next couple of days." Mr. Balasubramaniaum. Director Sankara Eye Hospital and a Senior Citizen commented, "...The participants could not have asked for anything more. The team has succeeded in generating a lot of enthusiasm among the Senior Citizens and, I am sure, the DDPP will receive tremendous response. What is noteworthy is that by showcasing the impressive array of services lined up for the benefit of 50+, you have infused a sense of belonging & pride among the Dignitarians!
