A single location in Mumbai at the city side was always a problem in commuting
for our venerable group residing in far-flung suburbs. So, it came as a
golden opportunity when ADAPT offered a space in Chembur. Happier still,
as it ensured scope for an intergenerational bonding between our seniors
and the children of ADAPT. Dr Mithu Alur, Founder Chairperson, ADAPT, and
Vandana Garware who shared and appreciated our vision, were instrumental
in bringing about this association, under the keen initiative of our Trustee,
Ashok Modi. Inaugurated by Anand S Sandhu, Chartered Accountant, and supported
by Sanjay Mungi, GM, ADAPT, who represented Dr Alur, this Chembur centre
of Dignity ensures the continuation of our varied activities and services
such as ID card centre, Dementia daycare services, Chai-masti, in addition
to a Third Age learning centre for seniors.
