CHAI MASTI

REGULAR ACTIVITIES AT CHAI MASTI CLUB

1. THE LAUGHTER CLUB

Mr.Torane, our foundation member, who conducts the Laughter club on every Wednesday, is the Life of our Chai Masti Club. He comes to the Chai Masti as a Volunteer, giving a laughable to members of the Laughter Club.

2. DIGNITY MUSIC CIRCLE

"Music is a great De-stressor," it relaxes everybody and therefore it one of the most popular activity at the Chai Masti club. A group of thirty to forty Members with a keen interest to learn and sing old Hindi film songs, have come together this time. Mr.Surendra Shah our foundation member and President of 55 Plus Senior Citizens Association, comes as a volunteer twice a week, Monday and Wednesday, to teach and sing with our enthusiastic members. The whole foundation feels lively when the Music Circle is in progress and without realising almost everyone at Dignity is humming the songs that are being sung by our Members.

Mani Mulla, another lively Volunteer member and a teacher in school, comes to the Chai Masti Club to conduct a session of "Swar Madhuri". Members love these sessions.

3. GAME OF BRIDGE
As an activity for brain longevity, none can beat the game of Bridge. Many seniors having taken to the game naturally. Other mind enriching games are also played here, apart from Bridge and cultural pastimes. The game that started with just about 2 or 3 members, has now multiplied to around 25 to 30. These members, who started learning bridge only as a hobby or pastime, took the game seriously under the initiative of our Foundation volunteer member Mr.Uttam Gianani. When he volunteered to teach bridge at the Chai Masti Club, there were only 4 members and the interest infected everyone around, and today the entire room is full of not less than 25 to 30 members. We are sure Mr.Uttam Gianani must be happy to see the fruits of his efforts.

4. CHESS
Chess is a game of strategy; it is a game for the intuitive. It is for those who can think as they play, those who can adapt to the changes as it comes and still think in a level headed fashion. Another game we encourage for brain longevity. On Monday every week at 4, Sir Johnny, who also teaches Chess at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, comes to teach Chess to our members. He volunteered to teach our members Chess as it reminds him of the days he spent with his grandparents. The interest shown by our members in learning Chess is really something to be admired.
5. TAI CHI

Tai Chi combines movement, meditation and breath regulation to enhance the flow of vital energy in the body, improve blood circulation, and enhance immune functions. Tai Chi is one of the most broadly applicable systems of self-care in the world. In China, it is estimated that 200 million people practice Tai Chi everyday, which is now becoming very popular in India.

Twice every week, Sifu Bhavin & Sifu Carlton, professional teachers, come and teach Tai Chi to our members. The members religiously come for the Tai Chi classes and they really enjoy being a part of the Tai Chi group. There are so many members participating in the Tai Chi classes that we have divided them into 2 groups, one group practices on Monday and the other on Thursday.
6. Dignity Khana Khazana
Once in two months we have members giving Cooking demonstration at the Chai Masti club. Sometimes we also invite students or professionals from outside to give a demonstration. It is one of the most popular activities amongst our members. It is popular not only amongst female members but also enjoyed by the men. Many of them also love cooking and give out recipe demos.
