DIGNITY FOUNDATION 3 rd ANNUAL BRIDGE OPEN PAIRS PROGRESSIVE TOURNAMENT (Under the auspices of Maharashtra Bridge Association)

The 3rd Dignity Open Bridge Tournament (Under the auspices of Maharashtra Bridge Association) took place on February 22, 2009, at the Swastik League Hall, Girgaum. The game of Bridge has become quite popular with the 50+ group, and we found a lot of husband-wife pairs as participants. From across Mumbai, around 14 pairs – both Dignity members and professional players -- participated in our tournament, in 2 sessions, from10 am to 5.30 pm. The tournament was inaugurated by Hema Deora, who has always been a great source of encouragement to Dignity’s Bridge Programme. Being a national and international Bridge player herself, she is a great inspiration to our players, more so with her sponsorship of four ‘rolling trophies’ to the winners of these categories:.

1st Pair : North–South
2nd Pair : North–South
1st Pair : East--West
2nd Pair : East--West

Of these, the two second places were won by Dignity’s players Shirish Modi and Subhash Karve (North- South), and Victor Lobo and Ratnakar Shah (East-West). Lion Ashok Modi, our Trustee, sponsored the cash awards for the winners.
